WHAT WE DO:

Sonshine Valley Ranch MISSIONS

(SVR Missions)

is the part of our ministry that is

currently at work in Ghana,

West Africa.

1.    Channel for Donations

2.   Promotion of mission work overseas

3.   Development of  SVR Ghana

4.   "Joseph" Work

5.   Mission trips

One of the main activities we are involved in is to channel donations to third world countries.

It can be very difficult to transfer money to another country.  And the laws of the United States require donations to be given to a bonafied 501(c)3 organization in order for them to be legitimate "tax-deductible" donations.  Therefore, SVR Ministries makes it easy for U.S. donors to get that tax-deduction.   Donations are made payable to "SVR Ministries", mailed to us (address below), and then channelled to the ministry overseas for which they are intended.

~Sending Fees~

Whenever possible, SVR covers the sending fees, too. But at times, this is not possible, therefore the sending fee may come directly from the donation.   Irregardless, no more than the actual sending fee is deducted from the donation when this happens.

It is our goal to provide:

  • Assistance for...
  •  Involvement in...  And....
  • Support for...

.......any and all kinds of mission work overseas.

Examples of this work would be to provide free or discounted services such as web site design - web hosting - domain names.  This also includes any other services which we are able to provide.   Also, we want to be open to assist in any ways needed, such as procurement of supplies or equipment and facilitating the shipment of such overseas.

SVR - or Sonshine Valley Ranch - was originally formed to provide a Christian Camping and Retreat Center.  At this time, we are hoping and planning to build a Retreat Center in Ghana. This will also act as a resort to help improve the local economy in Ghana.  The EXCITING PART of this is that we have some land that's been donated to us in the VOLTA REGION of Ghana. It is a beautiful piece of mountain-top rain forest land - with the most majestic views !

We hope to develop the land, but see this as a long-range plan. There is so much more to THE VISION. Click here to learn more.

Our "Joseph" Work stems from the story of Joseph in the Bible - and the great work he did in Egypt as head of the country under Pharoah.  Read more...

Sandi, the director of SVR, is spending time both in Africa and the U.S., working towards establishing a base in Africa.

While she is in Africa - she works at whatever the Lord brings her way:

* Special music at schools and churches

* Personal one-on-one ministry and counseling

* Helping the poor

* Leading worship at churches

* Sharing American Renewal songs with church worship teams

* And Establishing SVR Ghana (learn more)

And while doing this - she is in Africa as a "tentmaker", meaning she raises most of her own support.  She has finished her schooling as a computer programmer - and has her own contract business doing web design and other things.

Working in Africa means she can do more for you for less money - so if you'd like to contribute towards missions, AND have some IT work done for you - please check out the Ladysword Productions website at:

Our first summer of camp in Wisconsin was in 2000. That year, Christ Harvests the Nations contacted us and offered to send workers to help us.

A wonderful friendship developed and Sandi ended up travelling for her

first visit in Nov. of 2000.

While there, land was given to SVR, and many aspects of ministry visions and hopes were FULFILLED  or SHED MORE LIGHT ON.  In addition, God seemed to drop a supernatural LOVE for Africa in Sandi's heart.

So she longed to return - and that she did. After 3 weeks in 2000, she returned with a team of 7 in June of 2001. Before leaving, she heard the call to go and not turn back... and sold everything she had almost. After 2-1/2 months, she returned to finish her degree with hopes in her heart of returning to Africa.

In March of 2002, she returned again - this time to set up housekeeping right in Tema, Ghana.

She lived there for 5 months doing "tent-making" - which means she worked as a computer programmer while ministering at Bible Studies and church services during her spare time.  During this time, God also blessed Sandi with a husband - a wonderful man of God from Ghana - James Kofi Bekoe.  They were married in Ghana.   They have now returned to the States with the goal of setting up a sound and secure base for SVR to operate from.

Based in Tema, Ghana, West Africa - and reaching out to many other communities and cities in Ghana.

Being a tentmaker missionary can be very hard work, living as a local - making wages per the local economy.

It is a walk of faith.

Likewise - if you feel called to go on a mission trip, that can also seem hard. Many of us think we cannot go - surely - cuz the money just is not there (we  think).  But - the Lord gives us a promise that if we focus on the Kingdom of God - He will supply all our needs. (Luke 12: 22-34)

Though many times the financial picture looks quite bleak, we have to remember, when God sends you, you don't need your own money, cuz He pays the way...  And we are commanded to have faith, and to not fear - nor to forget the promises He gives us.

Hebrews 6:10:  "God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. "

So we continue our walk of faith.

If you would like to donate, then please do not hesitate.  If the Lord is prompting your heart, truly you could miss your blessing if you ignore it.  Visit our SUPPORT SVR page for more information on how you can help.

We are set up as a 501(c)3 and will mail out receipts within 30 days of receiving each donation.
